Lord who lives forever among the people due to his dedicated service. John Wesley

54The conversion of individuals in England in the 1700s AD led to the emergence and growth of the Methodist Church worldwide.

Reverend John Wesley is the best example of how individual change can lead to global change. His change of heart has been the cause of various beneficial conditions worldwide till date.

Anne 28 is John Wesley Eyre’s birthday. It’s been 210 years since 29 Methodist missionaries set foot in Sri Lanka. John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Church in England, will look back on their life history.

Even though he worked as a priest of the Anglican Church of England, he left the church where he worked as a priest on 24th Vaikasi 1738 and became an independent minister.

The Methodist Church in England also paved the way for the formation of a new Protestant Church. As a result of the expansion of the Church and the benefit of missionary journeys, a new dimension has emerged in Christian religious, social and educational work in many countries of the world. Even after 233 years have passed since Pastor John Wesley’s death, the church built by him and the works carried out by the church continue to shine like lamps in the four directions of the world.

John Wesley, who was rescued by God’s grace from a house fire at the age of 5 during his childhood and known as ‘wood taken from the burning fire’, later strove to rescue many from sinful life. He strove to restore those who lived in misery, poverty and abandonment. His work brought thousands into the family of Christ Jesus. John Wesley was born on 28th Anne 1703, the 15th of 19 children of Epworth Samuel Wesley and wife Susanna Wesley, a clergyman in Lincolnshire, England.

Joan Weasley was one of only 10 surviving children in the family at a time when infant mortality was on the rise. Mother Susanna Wesley, who believed that God kept her alive from fire and child death for his special purpose, took special care of the 10 children with John Wesley and paid special attention to the children in the life of faith in God with education, teaching good faith, and prayer life.

John Wesley, who excelled in education from an early age, completed his higher education at Oxbow College and specialized in Greek, Latin, Hebrew, and philosophy and classical languages.

He worked for the social development of England by establishing free hospitals, orphanages and schools. The Methodist Church was a new rise in England that led the people who joined them to God as a result of their ministry. The religious, social and educational work carried out by John Wesley continues today in many countries of the world.

John Wesley, who worked tirelessly for human development until he was 87 years old, not only in England as a missionary, but also as a missionary, was accepted into the Lord’s community after completing his journey of faith in Christ.

It was as a result of his mission vision that the Methodist missionaries set foot in Ceylon on June 29, 1814 AD for missionary work. John Wesley’s devotion to God and the sacrifice of the Methodist churches are still being carried out in Sri Lanka.
