Mahindra has introduced a new mid-range variant to the XUV 700 lineup in India. Earlier this month, Mahindra had introduced a new 7-seater trim in the MX3, the entry-level variant of the XUV 700. Following this, the company has now introduced the intermediate trim ‘AX5 Select’ as the introductory trim of the AX5 variant.
This new trim is placed between the AX3 and AX5 variants in the XUV 700 lineup. Mahindra has launched this new trim with 7 seats in 3 rows, along with the amenities offered in the AX3 variant. The new AX5 Select trim has been launched with two engine options – petrol and diesel – and two gearbox options – manual and automatic.
The AX5 Select trims will be priced at Rs 50,000 more than the AX3 variant trims. The AX5 Select trim is powered by a 2.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine capable of producing 200hp of power and 380Nm of torque. This turbo diesel engine is tuned in two ways and used in entry level and top end.
Along with the aforementioned two engine options, there are 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox choices. The diesel-engined variant also comes with an all-wheel drive option.
The AX5 Select trim of the XUV 700 is priced at Rs 16.89 lakh ex-showroom for the petrol engine and manual gearbox, and Rs 18.94 lakh ex-showroom for the automatic gearbox. Similarly, the model with diesel engine and manual gearbox has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 17.49 lakh, while the model with automatic gearbox has been launched at a price of Rs 19.09 lakh.
