Nallur Kandaswamy Temple festival preparations are busy

7Preparations for the annual Mahotsava flag hoisting festival of the historic Jaffna Nallurg Kandaswamy Temple are being carried out in full swing by the temple administration.

The annual festival of Nallurg Kandaswamy Temple will begin tomorrow, Friday 9th at 10.00 am with flag hoisting. In this case, the Chariot Festival will be held on the first day of September.

The festival will be held for twenty five consecutive days. In this case, Manja festival will be held on 18th in the evening, Arunagirinathar festival on 25th, Karttikai festival on 26th, Suryotsava festival on 27th morning, Santana Gopalar festival on 28th morning and Kailasavagana festival on the same day evening. Gajavalli and Mahavalli festival will be held on the morning of 29th and Vel Vimana (Tangaratham) Bhavani on the same day in the evening, Thandayuthapani festival on the morning of the 30th, Eromuka festival on the same day and Sappara festival on the evening of the 31st.

The Chariot Festival on the first day will be followed by the Thirtha Festival on the morning of September 2 and the flag hoisting ceremony in the evening of the same day. Nallurg Kandaswamy Temple management said that the Parkavan Festival will be held on the evening of September 3 and the Vairavar Utsavam the next day.
