Delhi: About 24 lakh students appeared for the NEET entrance exam held on May 5. The results were released on June 4 and created huge controversies.
In it, there were various allegations that question papers were leaked in an examination center in Rajasthan, 67 students got full marks and more than 1500 students were given mercy marks.
Following this, cases were filed against these irregularities in the courts of various states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, West Bengal. The case was also filed that the Supreme Court should investigate this as a single case. About 50 students joined together and filed a case in the Supreme Court.
In this way, about 8 cases are being investigated before the bench consisting of Judges Vikram Nath and SVN Patti. In the inquiry held yesterday, the National Examinations Agency (NTA) and the Central Government were ordered to respond regarding the NEET examination malpractice complaint. The case was adjourned to July 8.
It was requested by the petitioner to suspend the admission (counseling) for the medical course based on the NEET score until the investigation of the case is over. Responding to this today, the bench of judges has ordered that the need counseling cannot be banned.
At the very least, a stay on NEET counseling was sought till July 8, when the next phase of the hearing will take place. But the National Examination Agency had explained that June 6 is the deadline for starting and ending the NEET counseling. This was accepted by the Supreme Court.
