Nepal Currency : Government of Nepal to issue new 100 rupee notes with new map including Indian borders.
The border problem with countries like China and Nepal, which are close to the Indian borders, is an ongoing story. Earlier, China claimed 30 places near the Chinese border in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.
These areas, named Sangnung, consisted of 11 residential areas, 12 mountains, 4 rivers, a lake, a mountain pass and a land area. Reacting to this, Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that changing the name of a house does not make it his own. He said that Arunachal Pradesh will always remain part of India.
While China continues to create problems in the years 2017, 2020, 2023, 2024, Nepal has also raised a new border issue. On the India-Nepal border, the Indian government is planning to include the Indian-held areas of Libulek, Limbiathura and Kalabani in its border area and issue a new map on the new Nepalese 100 rupee note.
Nepal’s spokesperson Rekha Sharma said that the decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpagamal Dahal Prasanda. During the cabinet meeting held on April 25 and May 2, the country’s cabinet approved the redesign of the 100 rupee note and the replacement of the old image printed on the old note, said Information and Communication Officer Sharma.
It is noteworthy that on June 18, 2020, the Government of Nepal completed the process of updating the new political map of the country by merging Libulek, Kalabani and Limbiathura regions. India reacted strongly to this. It condemned such artificial expansion of Nepal as unacceptable.
It is noteworthy that Nepal shares a border area of about 1,850 km with five states of India.
