Producers Association: The Producers Association has decided to stop all work related to the shooting of Tamil cinema from November 1 to reorganize the salaries of actors, actresses, technicians and other salaries which are rising uncontrollably.

A joint meeting was held in Chennai under the leadership of the Tamil Film Producers Association, which was attended by Tamil Film Producers Association Executives, Tamil Nadu Theater Owners Association Executives, Tamil Nadu Theater Multiplex Owners Association Executives, Tamil Nadu Film Distributors Association Executives. The following resolutions were unanimously passed in the meeting.

It has been unanimously decided in the meeting that movies starring leading stars should be released on OTT platforms 8 weeks after their theatrical release.

Nowadays, some actors and technicians do not work for the films of the production company who have already received advance and go to new film companies, thus the producers who have already given advance are forced to face huge financial loss.

Therefore, it was decided in the meeting that in the future, any actor, actress and technician who received an advance from the producers should complete the film and move on to the next films.

Also, in the situation where actor Dhanush has received advance payments from several producers, the producers are requested to consult the Tamil Film Producers Association before starting work on new films starring actor Dhanush.

Many movies produced today are stuck in theaters. To change that situation, the Tamil Film Producers Association is going to make new regulations. A unanimous resolution has been passed in the meeting to temporarily suspend the start of new films from 16.8.2024 as the shootings can start after the implementation of the new regulations.

It was discussed and decided that the details of the films currently in production should be formally communicated to the Tamil Film Producers Association through a letter. So we request the producers to complete the ongoing shooting by October 30.

As the salaries and other expenses of actors, actresses, technicians are rising uncontrollably, various efforts are being made to regularize it and the Tamil film industry needs to be restructured. Therefore, it has been unanimously resolved in the meeting that all kinds of work related to shooting of Tamil cinema will be stopped from 01.11.2024.

A joint action committee comprising producers, distributors, theater owners has been set up to resolve the issues related to the film industry in the future.
