A couple of places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are expected to receive light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning from today till June 1. Chennai Meteorological Department said.
Senthamarai Kannan, Director, Meteorological Department, said in a press release, “From today to June 1, light to moderate rain may occur at a few places in Puduwai and Karaikal regions of Tamil Nadu.
In terms of temperature, for the next 5 days, Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal regions will generally rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. Today’s maximum temperature will be close to normal at many places,” it said.
The Meteorological Department has also advised fishermen not to venture to the Central and North Bay of Bengal, North Andaman and Maldives regions as there is a possibility of cyclonic winds.
