The Tamil Nadu Government Transport Corporation has informed that fans coming to watch IPL matches will no longer have free travel on government buses.
The 17th edition of the IPL cricket festival started on March 22. During this season, various matches were played at Chennai’s Chepakkam Stadium. In this, the matches of Chennai Super Kings team mostly took place at the Chepakkam stadium. In order to attract the CSK fans who will watch this match, the Tamil Nadu Government Transport Corporation had announced that they can travel in the government bus for free by showing the cricket match ticket. In this, 3 hours before the match and 3 hours after the match, you can travel by bus from Chepauk to other places for free. It was used by cricket fans.
Protests arose as to how the government can allow the fans to watch the IPL cricket match free of charge. Explaining this, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation has not provided free bus service at government expense to those coming to watch the matches in Chepauk. The CSK team management, which has an agreement with the transport corporation, said that they have paid the travel expenses to the transport department. In this case, the semi-final and final of the IPL cricket will be held on the 24th and 26th at Chennai’s Chepakkam Sports Stadium. A question arose whether the fans going to watch the match can travel by government bus for free.
Subsequently, as in previous IPL matches, it was announced that you can travel in city buses free of charge by showing online/pre-printed tickets, but there has been a change in this announcement. In other words, concessional travel in city buses is not allowed for the cricket matches to be held on May 24 and 26. Therefore, it has been informed by the Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation that passengers should pay the fare and get a ticket to travel.
