To end the long wait, Chennai Digiatra facility has been introduced at the airport. Launched in India two years ago, Digiatra aims to provide travelers with a hassle-free process.
Before your flight, you can avoid waiting in long queues by using this app for the pre-boarding process. Download this app on your phone, go into the app and enter your mobile number, name and take a selfie. After that give Aadhaar, flight details and create ID.
After reaching the airport, take a photo with the camera at the e-gate. Also scan the QR code generated in the app here. On arrival at the airport, face scanning will be done at various check points.
Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials said it is not mandatory for passengers to use Digiatra. They can use it if they want. As there are separate queues for users of this facility, the pre-boarding process can be completed quickly.
