Today (30), the Department of Meteorology has predicted that occasional rain is expected in Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
50 mm in some places in these areas. More moderate rainfall is expected today.
It is expected to rain several times in North-West Province and Matalai District.
There is a possibility of rain or thundershower at some places in Badulai and Ampara districts in the evening or at night.
There is a possibility of strong wind blowing at a speed of 50-55 km per hour from time to time in the western slopes of the central highlands and in the northern, north-central and north-western provinces, Trincomalee, Monarakala and Ambantotai districts.
In other parts of the country, there is a possibility of strong wind blowing at a speed of 30-40 km per hour from time to time.
Meanwhile, 70-80 km per hour in the Arabian Sea areas between (10N – 23N), (55E – 72E) due to active southwest monsoon. Speed will see very strong winds and very rough sea conditions.
