Chennai: A Trichy court has issued a one-day police custody order for Chavku Shankar.
Cases have been registered against YouTuber Chavku Shankar in various police stations like Coimbatore Cybercrime Police, Salem, Chennai and Trichy for defaming a female police officer. While the Coimbatore crime police had already detained him for a day and interrogated him, Chavku Shankar was brought from Coimbatore Central Jail to Trichy yesterday for a case registered in Trichy.
Chavku Shankar was produced in the Trichy court yesterday. He was remanded in judicial custody till May 28. Following this, Trichy Crime Police requested permission to provide 7-day police custody in connection with the case against him.
Justice Jayaprada continued the hearing regarding this permission request and passed the order today accepting the arguments of the government and Chavik Shankar. In it, he gave permission to the Trichy crime police to interrogate Chavku Shankar in police custody for a day.
In the case registered by the Trichy Crime Police for defaming the female police officers, Chavku Shankar has been named as the first accused and Felix as the second accused. Felix was earlier arrested and lodged in Trichy Central Jail.
