The 5-door Thar model, which Indian off-road car customers have been waiting for for a long time, will be released on August 15. Mahindra has named this model as ‘Thar Roxx’. There are reports that the new Thar Rocks model is going to get various advanced features over the 3-door Thar model currently on sale.
Importantly, the updated XUV 3XO model that was released at the end of last April is said to be offered in Tar Rocks as well. Let’s see what facilities this model is going to get.
ADAS Safety Features:
Nowadays, car manufacturers are starting to provide ADAS facilities even in budget cars that are launched at lower prices. Mahindra has also introduced Level 2 ADAS in its compact SUV XUV 3XO. Following this, Mahindra is going to provide ADAS facilities in Tar Rocks model as well.
While the XUV 3XO is equipped with various ADAS features including Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control and Smart Pilot Assist, it will be known at the time of launch what features will be offered in the Tar Rocks model.
Front Parking Sensor:
Mahindra has provided this front parking sensor facility in the top end variants of XUV 3XO. Similarly, this front parking sensor facility was also provided in the model form of the Tar Rocks model. This feature is very helpful when traveling in very tight spaces or in traffic jams.
Like the XUV 3XO, it remains to be seen whether Mahindri will offer this feature only in the tar variants of the Tar Rocks model or across all variants.
10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system:
While the existing Thar model has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Mahindra has upgraded the new Thar Rocks with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The same system was also offered in the XUV 3XO which was launched a few months ago. The touchscreen infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and various advanced connectivity options.
Digital Instrument Cluster:
This is also a big change from the previous 3-door Tar. On the new Tar Rocks, the XUV will get a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster similar to the one on the 3XO. This will give the new tar a modern car look and feel. Notably, the 3-door Thar model currently on sale gets a TFT multi-information display with twin analog dials.
360 Degree Camera:
This is also a significant safety and technical feature. With this 360 degree camera facility, blind spots around the vehicle will be reduced. Also, this facility is very helpful for driving on very congested roads and parking the vehicle in tight spaces. This 360-degree camera has been spotted several times when the new Tar Rocks model was tested on Indian roads.
Dual Zone Climate Control:
The dual-zone climate control feature offered on the XUV 3XO model will also be offered on the new Tar Rocks. Many people can choose the climate control according to their preference while traveling in the car. With this, all passengers can enjoy a luxurious journey.
Panoramic Sunroof:
Mahindra is going to offer all types of sunroof facilities like single pane, dual pane and panoramic on the Tar Rocks model. Earlier, we could see the single pane and dual pane sunroofs in the spyshots captured when the model was tested. The teaser released by the company has featured a panoramic sunroof. Hence, Mahindra is expected to offer a sunroof on all variants of the Thar Rocks depending on the variant.
