The Madras High Court has given permission to the AIADMK to hold a protest against the Chennai Municipal Corporation in North Chennai.
West Chennai AIADMK official Ganesan had filed a petition in the Chennai High Court against the refusal of permission to hold a protest on DH Road in New Vannarappeta, claiming that there is administrative corruption in the Chennai Corporation and that law and order has broken down in Tamil Nadu.
The petition came up for hearing before Justice G. Jayachandran.
At that time, on behalf of the police, the petitioner said that permission would only be given to public meetings and protests would not be allowed.
Subsequently, the judge gave permission to hold the protest at the place requested by the petitioner and said that the protest can be held for thirty minutes from 8 am to 10 am on Sunday morning.
