In this situation, Felix Gerald had filed a petition in the court seeking bail. Then various allegations have been made in the same case. So he asked me to grant bail.

The case came up for hearing before Justice Tamilselvi. At that time, the government strongly opposed the granting of bail to Felix Gerald.

The prosecution then alleged that Felix Gerald’s questions were asked with intent. Judge Tamilselvi, who heard the case, said, “There is an indication of intent in Felix Gerald’s questions. The petitioner’s question raises a misinformed issue. Petitioner is not a layman. Bail cannot be granted to him,” he ordered.

The judge also said, “The petitioner may have edited and published the said interview”. Felix Gerald’s lawyer said, “His client has been in jail for the past 47 days; “He has nothing to do with Chav Shankar’s opinion,” he said. Also 87 documents have been seized so far. Taking into account that he has been in jail for a long time, he should be granted bail,” he said.
