Phishing Attack: According to Indian cyber security firm CERT-In, all the users affected by the recent computer outages around the world are now being targeted by malware known as phishing attacks.
It’s a scam, and these scammers pose as CrowdStrike support staff and offer malware to disable your computer. According to CERT-In, an Indian cyber security agency, these attackers can undoubtedly install malware into our computers, causing data leaks and system crashes.
Although official systems from CrowdStrike and Microsoft are now recovering, fraudsters are selling software that claims to be completely unrecoverable. CERT-In says phishing filers also distribute Trojan malware disguised as rescue tools.
According to CERT-In, in such phishing attacks, fraudsters impersonate official organizations through e-mail, text messages (SMS) or phone calls, and obtain sensitive personal information such as bank details and login.
Also, they have given some advice on how to protect ourselves from this. It advised browsers and companies to configure firewalls to block 31 such URLs.
Accordingly users are advised not to click on any link from non-authentic mobile numbers or any web link especially (.exe). Also, users are told that they should only click and visit websites they know well.
Also, they are urged not to give their personal data like any log-in to any suspicious website. Even if there is a slight doubt about such things, they are saying to avoid that internet.
CrowdStrike users have been asked to be cautious as mentioned above due to phishing attacks targeting CrowdStrike.
