The Tamil Nadu government has issued guidelines for building houses under the Artist’s Dream House project. The guidelines for construction of one lakh houses at a cost of Rs 3,100 crore have been released under the artist’s dream house project.
The Government of Tamil Nadu issued a notification regarding the artist’s dream home project in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on February 19. Under the artist’s dream house scheme in Tamil Nadu, guidelines have been issued to allocate Rs 3,100 crore to build one lakh houses at a rate of Rs 3.10 lakh per house in this financial year 2024-25.
In this case, the Director of Rural Development P. Ponnaiah issued the guidelines related to the implementation of the Artist Dream House project on Tuesday (28.05.2024) and gave various instructions to the District Collectors.
Also, the guidelines for Artist Dream Home Project should be strictly followed. All houses should be 360 sqft with kitchen. Out of which 300 sq. ft. should be constructed with RCC roof and remaining 60 sq. ft. with non-flammable material as per the choice of the beneficiaries. It is advised that.
Thatched or asbestos roofs shall not be erected. The total amount per house should be within Rs.3.50 lakhs. Eligible beneficiaries for this scheme should be selected by a committee consisting of Village Panchayat Chairman, Village Panchayat Assistant Engineer or District Engineer, Zonal Deputy District Development Officer, Ward Member, Panchayat Supervisor.
This committee will inspect all the huts and select the beneficiaries based on merit. Eligible candidates should be added if they are missing from the list. On the basis of the guidelines, the details regarding allotment of houses should be prepared on circle and village basis and sent to the Directorate of Rural Development.
Also, for the residents of cottages, the new R.C.C. The aim is to build houses with roofs. Under this scheme, a fund of Rs.3,100 crore has been allocated to build one lakh houses at the rate of Rs.3.10 lakh per house. All the houses under the Artist’s Dream Home scheme will be 360 sq. ft. with a kitchen. 300 Sq Ft R.C.C. with roof and the remaining 60 sq. ft. to be constructed as fireproof roof.
The walls of the house should be constructed of brick, interlocking brick, AAC block etc. Details of KVVT survey, new cottages survey, to be uploaded online by Rural Development Department by May 31. Also, if 25 to 50 houses are pending under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme (Uragam), the panchayat will not be included in the Artist’s Dream Home Scheme allocation for this year.
Similarly, if more than 50 houses in any panchayat have been taken up for repair under the Rural Housing Scheme, those panchayats need not be included. On that basis, the details related to allotment of houses should be prepared on circle and village basis and sent to Directorate of Rural Development,” the notification said.
