Doctors have warned that it is inappropriate to allow children under the age of two to use mobile phones and digital screens.
Inoka Wickramasinghe, the special medical expert of the Bureau, gave this warning during a press conference held at the Health Promotion Bureau.
In this regard, he further said,
“When children continue to use mobile phones, there are negative effects on their mood.
Children’s brain development rate is affected by using digital screens. In this case, parents give mobile phones to their children to carry out their work easily.
Therefore, parents should take steps to prevent their children from using digital screens including mobile phones as much as possible,” he said.
