It is customary for Hindus to worship their ancestors on the new moon day of every month. In particular, 3 new moons in a year are believed to be the most important days by Hindus. Hindu Shastras say that on the days of Adi Amavasi, Puratasi Amavasi and Tai Amavasi, one should pay tarpanam and worship the ancestors.
Accordingly, this year the new moon day falls on Sunday, 4th August. Tarpanam can be offered to the ancestors on the special new moon day of Miku Adi month of this year. Giving Pitru Darpanam on Aadi Amavasi day means that it should be given at the time of Amavasi tithi at sunrise. Also, on Amavasai, they worship the ancestors and perform some remedies. This year Adi Amavasha falls on two days in August, Saturday and Sunday. This new moon is on Sunday 4th August till 4.42 pm. So, at sunrise, perform all the ancestor worship, offering didi darpanam. At the same time if any family member in your house is pregnant then don’t give any tarpanam or didti.
This salt remedy should be done on the night of Saturday 3rd August. You can do this remedy by 10 PM after 6 PM on Saturday.
It should be everyone’s wish that there should be no money problems in the house, no debt burden in the house and prosperity in the house. On the day of Aadi Amavasya, if you perform the remedy with rock salt, you will get many times the benefits.
On the new moon day you should do this salt remedy with freshly bought rock salt. A white paper should be taken. Place a yellow dot on all 4 corners of that paper.
Then, take the currency notes two by two. For example 10 rupees note, two 10 rupees notes should be kept. If it is a 20 rupee note, two 20 rupee notes should be kept. You can keep the currency notes as per your convenience.
Put currency notes on that white paper and fold it into a packet with cloves, cardamom, bark and wasambu. Then, put the packet on the freshly bought rock salt and do this remedy.
Keep the freshly bought rock salt in a glass jar or ceramic jar. Place this packet on that salt.
There is no need to keep this package in the pooja room itself. You can take this to pray to Goddess Mahalakshmi to get rid of all your financial problems. Let this packet remain on the salt pan for the whole of Saturday.
The next day is also the new moon day. After taking bath on Sunday morning, light a ghee lamp for Mother Mahalakshmi. Then, keep only one currency note from the folded package in your bureau. Take one of the remaining currency notes in the packet and buy food for some poor person.
Also, if you can do this remedy on Fridays every week, do it. If that is not possible, it is better to do it on the new moon day which comes once a month.
