Under the leadership of Thirukovil Divisional Secretary Thangaiya Gajendran, Amparai District Government President Sinthaka Abeyavikrama distributed rice to the Village Service Unit in Thambilu on Thursday.
In this way, about 8,470 low-income families in Thirukovil area were given rice in the second phase, and 10 kg rice packets were given to each family.
It is also noteworthy that Amparai District Government President Sinthaka Abeyavikrama has said that so far the government has spent 54 crore rupees to 20 divisional secretaries in Amparai district for free rice distribution for two months.
The event was attended by Ampara District Governor, Thirukovil Divisional Secretary, Assistant Divisional Secretary, District Planning Director, District Accountant and District Divisional Secretariat Officers.
