BJP state president Annamalai has criticized DMK for holding a three-party event in Coimbatore for vain publicity.
In a statement issued in this regard, he said, “I have come to know that the DMK is going to hold a three-day festival in Coimbatore on June 15 under the leadership of Chief Minister Stalin. I also learned that the ceremony, which was originally scheduled to be held on June 14, was postponed by a day for fear of celebrating it as a grand celebration as it was the same day DMK former non-portfolio minister Senthil Balaji was arrested in a money laundering case.
By raising the electricity tariff many times, by introducing artificial tariff hikes, by paralyzing small and small industries in Coimbatore, by destroying the livelihood of the people, by completely abusing the power as a commission in all industries without one department, by not properly utilizing the funds provided by the central government for the Smart City project, proper roads in Coimbatore. After three years without even being set up, now the question of the people is whether the three grand festival is a keta.
Kolochiya Coimbatore is dysfunctional in education and industry under DMK rule. Siruvani River, Noyal River and Kausika River are lying in ruins. Road facilities are not improved. Garbage is not disposed of properly. If the DMK cares about the people of Coimbatore, it should have implemented the Athikadavu Avinasi Project, a sixty-year dream project of the people of Coimbatore.
Based on the long-standing demands of the people of Coimbatore, if the DMK government comes forward to fulfill one-tenth of the election promises made by the Tamil Nadu BJP, Coimbatore’s year-long longing will end. But instead of it, taking the festival for vain advertisement, the people are not going to get any benefit,” he said.
