The National People’s Power (NPP) will conduct the May Day rally in 2025 under a government led by the NPP, NPP Leader, MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.
He stated this addressing the May Day rally of the NPP themed ‘Let Us Work in Solidarity to Rebuild the Country’ held at the BRC grounds in Colombo yesterday.
According to him, the composition of politicians in the May Day rallies of other political parties held in Colombo yesterday was a mixture of individuals who were supporting different parties under different leaders while the NPP conducted a strong and well-organized rally unitedly.
“This indicates the beginning of the era when power is being transferred to the public for the first time in history. It has caused VVIP politicians to panic in distress,” he stressed.
He said although the NPP is confident about a win at the upcoming elections, a narrow win is not enough to make the expected change in the country and it needs a huge victory to form a very strong government to achieve that target.
The NPP is the only political platform which originally represents the labour force of the country and other parties are only making the use of the labour community for their narrow political gains, he further added.
