More than 4 lakh students will lose 4 marks as NEET results are to be modified as per the Supreme Court order.
The Supreme Court is investigating the cases related to the leak of the NEET exam question paper held on May 5, high toppers, irregularities in the examination procedures and irregularities in awarding of marks.
During yesterday’s hearing, the Supreme Court rejected the plea for re-examination saying that although it is true that the question paper was leaked in the NEET exam, there was no evidence of massive malpractice.
In another case, in Physics, the Supreme Court upheld the answer to a question as Option 4 based on the recommendation of an IIT Delhi expert panel. Following this, the Supreme Court directed the National Examinations Agency to make changes in the examination results according to this answer.
Based on that, more than 4 lakh students lose 4 marks in NEET exam. Due to this there will be a change in their ranking. Also the marks of 44 toppers are revised to 715. Their rank will also decline.
Meanwhile, the National Examinations Agency is expected to release the final results of the NEET examination by the end of this week.
