Every year car manufacturing companies release their new cars on the eve of the festive season. As the event approaches, various car manufacturers are preparing their new products. We may see a series of releases from various companies in the coming months. Here is the list of 27 cars that will be released next. The launch of some of these cars may take place next year as well. Let’s see what kind of cars they are.
Tata xexon iCNG:
One of Tata’s flagship products is the Nexon compact SUV. While Tata already sells petrol, diesel and electric Nexon models, the company is planning to launch a CNG version soon. If the CNG variant is launched, the Tata Nexon will be the first mainstream car to be sold with four fuel options simultaneously. Notably, Tata had earlier showcased the iCNG model of the Nexon with twin-cylinder technology and a smaller boot space.
Maruti Suzuki eVX:
After making a foray into the compact SUV and sub-4m SUV segment, Maruti Suzuki is all set to foray into the electric vehicle market with the launch of the eVX. Maruti Suzuki holds an unshakable position in the Indian automobile market with over 40% market share in the fuel segment. The company is yet to launch electric cars. With this new car, the company is expected to take an unshakable place in the electric car market as well.
Tata Curve:
Another car in Tata’s electric vehicle lineup is the Tata Curve. While Tata has various plans for the Curve model including fuel, electric and CNG, the first to be launched is the electric model. Tata plans to launch the first electric model by the end of this year, followed by the petrol model of the Curve by the beginning of next year. It is expected to be followed by the launch of the CNG variant.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire:
Maruti Suzuki recently launched the updated new generation Swift model in the Indian market. The company is also going to update their sedan model Dzire. All the design changes and new features given in the Swift model are expected to be given in the updated model of Dzire as well. Also, it is noteworthy that Maruti will also provide a sunroof facility in the new Dzire.
Kia Clavis/ Syros:
Tata and Hyundai have seen success in the micro SUV segment in India with the introduction of Punch and Xter cars. Kia plans to join the lineup with their Clavis/Cyros model. Kia is expected to use the name Syros for the petrol-engined version of the new model and the Clavis for the electric version.
Tata Altras Razor:
One of Tata’s flagship hatchback models is the Altras. Tata is planning to launch a new special edition variant called the Razor in June to give the hatchback a sporty look. Tata is launching the Altras Racer Edition as a rival to the N-line variant of the Hyundai i20 hatchback which is being sold as a competitor to the Altras in India. Notably, the Race Edition’s engine has been tuned to produce slightly more power than the engine found in the top-end model of the Altras.
Mahindra Thar Armada:
Mahindra’s Thar is the most loved off-road SUV in India. Mahindra will soon launch a 5-door variant of the Thar, which is currently sold with three doors. It has been reported that the company is going to name the model as Thar Armada. The engines currently used in Mahindra cars will be used in the Thar Armada. Only the engine’s tunes are expected to be tweaked to suit the Armada’s weight.
Mahindra XUV.e8:
Currently, Mahindra is selling only the XUV 400 electric car model in India. Following this, the company announced that it will soon introduce electric versions of the fuel cars that are currently being sold, as well as new electric cars that will be developed from the ground up. The XUV.e8 will be released this year as an electric version of the Mahindra XUV 700 which is already on sale. Mahindra is currently testing it on Indian roads.
Mahindra XUV.e9:
The XUV.e9 model is the coupe SUV variant of the aforementioned XUV.e8 model. Mahindra is currently testing it on Indian roads along with the XUV.e8 model. This coupe SUV model is expected to have more performance than the aforementioned SUV model. With a top speed of over 200 kmph and excellent performance, the design of the XUV.e9 is said to be different from the SUV model.
Mahindra BE.05:
This is the third model of Mahindra’s upcoming electric cars. Mahindra uses the XUV name for the electric variants of the petrol models already on sale and the BE (Born Electric) name for the models that will be exclusively electric from the ground up. As such, the BE.05 will be Mahindra’s first electric car to be built from the ground up.
Hyundai Creta EV:
The Creta EV is the electric version of Hyundai’s flagship mid-size SUV, the Creta, currently on sale in India. We can see various new features and design features that are given in the Creta facelift model in this Creta EV model as well. Hyundai is currently testing the Creta EV on Indian roads, which is being developed to give a range of up to 450 km on a single charge.
Hyundai Alcazar Facelift:
Hyundai launched the Alcazar as a 7-seater by lengthening the Creta. The company is planning to launch the facelifted version of the Alcazar in the next few months. The new features that we saw in the Creta facelift can also be seen in this Alcazar facelift. The major update of the Alcazar facelift is the addition of ADAS features. Kia Carens Facelift:
The Kia Carens is marketed as a premium MPV in India, competing against the likes of Maruti and Toyota’s MPVs. Its low price can be said to be its strength. Kia is going to update the Garance MPV soon. Currently, the updated Garance facelift model is undergoing testing in South Korea. Just like the aforementioned Alcazar, Kia will be offering ADAS safety features for the first time in this Garance. That is also the main feature of this facelift. Along with this, the Garance MPV is also expected to get a panoramic sunroof.
New Kia Carnival:
Kia has recently stopped selling the third generation Kia Carnival in India. Following this, the company is going to introduce the fourth generation facelift model of Carnival in India. To confirm it, the new Carnival model has also been caught in a spyshot while testing it in Andhra Pradesh. We can expect the introduction of a new carnival during this year’s festival season.
Citrine Basalt:
Citroen is testing the Basalt compact SUV in India, which was earlier expected to be called the C3X. We can see various features that were given in the Basalt concept model in production form as well. It is noteworthy that the same powertrain used in the C3 Aircross model sold in India will also be used in the new Basalt model.
Tata Harrier/Safari Petrol:
Tata Motors is developing a new turbo petrol engine for the Harrier and Safari models, which are currently only sold with diesel engines. While the starting price of these is a bit high due to the diesel engine, Tata Motors is soon going to introduce models with petrol engine to reduce its starting price a bit. The newly introduced 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine is expected to produce a maximum power of 170hp and 280Nm of torque. Tata is also expected to release this new model ahead of the festive season.
Tata Harrier/Safari Electric:
Tata continues to introduce electric versions of the models in its petrol line-up. Tata is also planning to launch electric versions of the Harrier and Safari models along with the petrol engined variants. Tata has already showcased these two electric cars. These electric cars are expected to have a range of 500 km and will be offered with a dual motor setup.
MG Cloud EV:
MG is currently selling two electric cars in India, ZS EV and Comet EV. The company is also planning to launch a new electric car called Cloud EV soon to expand its electric vehicle lineup in India. MG is going to launch the same model as Wuling Cloud EV and Baojan Yanduo EV in other countries and in China under the name of Cloud EV in India. The Cloud EV is expected to be launched in India with a 50kWh battery and a range of 450 km.
MG Cluster Facelift:
MG is planning to launch a facelifted version of the cluster model that is sold in the large SUV segment soon. MG is planning to further increase the size of the cluster with the facelifted version, which is being sold to compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Jeep Meridian. But it looks like the engine used in the current cluster will continue without any changes as far as the engine is concerned.
New SUV from Skoda:
Skoda is developing a new SUV in India as a slightly more affordable car. Skoda is currently testing this sub-4 meter long SUV on Indian roads. Skoda will use only a three-cylinder, 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine in this compact SUV. Skoda is planning to launch this small SUV in India targeting more customers. Hence, the price is also expected to be lower than we think.
