Due recognition for the Tamil Thai congratulatory song of the State Govt
Since the 1970s, the song beginning with ‘Nirarum Kadaludutta’ has been in practice as a Tamil Thai greeting song. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr.M.K.Stalin on 17.12.2021 announced the Tamil Thai greeting song as the state song and ordered that everyone should stand up and pay respect when this song is sung.
35 awards on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu
In order to recognize and honor the Tamil scholars who are contributing to Tamil, the Government of Tamil Nadu has awarded Thiruvalluvar Award, Perarirjar Anna Award, Father Periyar Award, Annal Ambedkar Award, Perunthalaivar Kamarasar Award, Mahakavi Bharatiyar Award, Bavender Bharathidasan Award, Chief Minister’s Computer Tamil Award, Tamilchemmal Awards, Grammar Award. ,
Literary Award, Pure Tamil Devotee Awards are given annually in 35 categories. Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M. K. Stalin increased the award amount from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh, and also created a new Literary Mamani award and ordered to give an award amount of Rs. 5 lakh to three scholars annually. 260 awardees have been felicitated in the last three years.
Moreover, Thakaisal Tamil Award which was newly created by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K.Stal and given by the public sector for two years will also be given from this year through the Tamil Development Department.

The books of Tamil scholars are being nationalized on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu with the lofty aim of making the works of Tamil scholars available to the people at an affordable price in a simple manner, and for the treasury of ideas of Tamil scholars to reach all the people of the world. In this way, in the last 3 years, the books of 22 famous Tamil scholars including professor K. Anpahagan, novelist Nedunchezhiyan, Silampoli Su. Chellappan have been nationalized and their heirs have been given 2 crore 85 lakh rupees as royalties.

Financial support for establishment of Tamil seats and Tamil work in neighboring states
In order to encourage the Tamil interest of Tamils living abroad, under the program of creating Tamil seats in neighboring universities, the Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister gave 1 crore 25 lakh rupees for the continued functioning of the Tamil department at the University of Cologne in Germany and 2 crore 50 lakh rupees (3 lakh US dollars) to establish a Tamil seat in the University of Houston.
75 lakh rupees for the development of Navi Mumbai Tamil Sangh building, New Delhi, 5 crore rupees for the creation of a separate department of Tamil literature in Jawaharlal Nehru University, Orissa State, Rs.15.00 lakh rupees for setting up classrooms for teaching Tamil language in Bhubaneswar Tamil Sangh, and to develop the mother tongue Tamil language in the neighborhood and neighboring states. Tamil Koodal project to encourage Tamil awareness among students through Muthamizharinagar Kalayan Tamil Forum
“To increase interest in Tamil among college students in Tamilnadu, 100 colleges selected by the Directorate of College Education, Directorate of Technical Education, Directorate of Engineering Colleges to organize student Tamil Forums in Government Arts and Science Colleges, Engineering Colleges and Medical Colleges and conduct Tamil-related competitions among students as deposit for each college. Rs. 5 lakhs, a total of Rs 5 crores and an additional Rs 36 lakhs for conducting competitions in the first year has been decreed by Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M. K. Stalin.
Similarly, to help the students studying in government schools to learn about the ancient glory of the Tamil language, to develop an interest in the grammar of Tamil language literature and to learn about the Tamil scholars who have dedicated themselves to Tamil, through Tamil Forums in 6218 government high and high schools all over Tamilnadu, three ‘Tamil Koodal’ are held in each school a year. A total of Rs 5 crore 59 lakh 62 thousand has been provided to each school annually to run Rs.9000/-.

Thirak Kadhal Thirukkural project
With the financial assistance of 25 lakh rupees provided by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to conduct programs in Dindamil under the name of ‘Theerak Kadhal Thirukkural’, a painting competition was held under the title Kuraloviyam, and a Thirukkural calendar was created with the paintings drawn by the students and published by the Hon’ble Chief Minister on 15.1.2022. Prizes were also given to the winning students.

At a cost of Rs.10.40 lakhs through the Tamil Internet Education Institute, the audio/light recordings of 38 famous leaders and Tamil scholars have been converted into electronic format to document them on the web site so that everyone can access them.

For the first time in the history of Tamil Nadu, the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Works Corporation has been ordered to provide 5 crore rupees to prepare the thoughts of community architect Father Periyar in 21 Indian and international languages in print and e-book versions.

Robert Caldwell, A Comparative Study of the Dravidian Languages
“A Comparative Grammar of the Dravidian of South Indian Family of Languages” written by the foreign scholar Dr. Robert Caldwell as the first book of the Muttamizhari translation project created by the Honorable Chief Minister was translated into Tamil by Professor B.Ra.Subramanian and translated into Tamil by World Research Institute and Tamil Nadu Textbook Association.
