Tamil Nadu cabinet reshuffle
Assembly elections are two years away. Stalin is very determined to win the 2026 elections and rule. So he wants to make all the districts of Tamil Nadu favorable to him. The DMK has to somehow turn Kongu Mandal, which is a challenge, into its favour. So he has decided to give importance to that area in the cabinet.
Palm Tree Patti Rajendran
DMK has no legislators in Coimbatore. DMK won only one assembly seat in Salem district. Panimarathu Patti Rajendran is the only MLA from Salem district, so it was expected when the DMK cabinet was formed that he would get a place in the cabinet. But that did not happen then.
Senthil Balaji
Now the DMK leadership thinks that they can make Kongu region in their favor by making him a minister in the remaining two years. But the Tamil Nadu cabinet is already full house. While there are 35 seats in the cabinet, there are currently 34, and that one seat is also waiting for Senthil Balaji. They say that after he comes out on bail, he will be given ministerial responsibility along with the portfolios he was holding.
Intelligence report
So there is a situation where Rajendran gets a place only if someone removes someone. Stalin would periodically seek reports from the intelligence services on how the Tamil Nadu ministers were performing departmentally. He has also asked for a report on how their work was during the election this time. Similarly, Sabarison’s Penn Company has given a report on District Secretaries and Ministers.
Kalda for seniors!
According to these reports, there have been some complaints against a senior minister from North District. Chief Minister Stalin is also said to be unhappy with him for the past few months. So they say he may be dropped from the cabinet. A senior minister from South District may be retired due to health reasons and there are talks in Chittaranjan Road area.
