Delhi: Union Minister Anurag Tagore has criticized the MPs of Tamil Nadu referring to Kallakurichi issue.
The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha started last week. In this, the series was adjourned last week and reconvened today as opposition members are busy demanding to discuss the NEET exam issue throughout the session which started for regular parliamentary debates with the President’s speech.
At the beginning of today’s session of the House, opposition members joined forces to discuss the NEET issue and later walked out. Speaking at that time Union Minister Anurag Tagore said that Tamil Nadu MPs are not qualified to speak in the Lok Sabha.
Anurag Tagore mentioned about Kallakurichi vivasaraya revivals and Tamil Nadu MPs went on a series of protests against this. This caused some uproar in the Lok Sabha.
So far more than 60 people have died due to consumption of poison in Kallakurichi Karunapuram. Although many have recovered from treatment and come home, very few are still undergoing treatment. It has been reported that Central Minister Anurag Thakur has criticized the MPs of Tamil Nadu by mentioning this.
