As the South-West Monsoon has intensified, the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tenkasi, Nellai and Kanyakumari districts of Tamil Nadu have been receiving heavy rains for the past few days. Similarly, the states of Kerala and Karnataka are also receiving heavy rains. Water bodies including dams, lakes and ponds are filling up rapidly due to continuous heavy rains.
Due to this, the water flow to Tamil Nadu dams has increased. in this situation Tamil Nadu Weatherman Rain has been announced. Accordingly, he said that heavy rain will continue in Cauvery catchment areas like Kodagu and KRS and Harangi catchment areas. Similarly, heavy rains will continue in Chikmangalore and Hemavati catchment areas in Hassan district.
The Tamil Nadu Weatherman also said that heavy rain will continue in Wayanad, the catchment area of Kabini. Tamil Nadu Weatherman also said that heavy rain will continue in Valparai, Nilgiris and Avalanchi Upper Bhavani regions today. Similarly, Mettur Dam will reach its full capacity of 120 feet by Independence Day, he said.
Tamil Nadu Weatherman has also said that there is a chance of rain in one or two places in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu districts this evening or night. Apart from these districts and the areas along the Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu, the weather will be dry in other parts of Tamil Nadu today, Tamil Nadu Weatherman said on his Twitter page.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has said that widespread rain is likely to occur in the state of Kerala today. Yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts today. It is also reported that the low pressure area from south Gujarat coast to north Kerala and intensity of southwest monsoon is the reason for this.
