The sale of liquor in Tamil Nadu is conducted by the state government through Tasmac shops. At present various schemes and reforms are being implemented in Tasmac shops under the leadership of Minister of Prohibition and Prohibition S.Muthusamy. In that way, it is planned to introduce a bill for each bottle. In this regard they have decided to build computer and digital technology facilities in Tasmac stores.
Tasmac on digital route…Bill system for every bottle…Tamil Nadu Govt.
Extra money for alcohol
Scanning system
Currently 2024 Lok Sabha elections are going on. The counting of votes will be held on June 4 and the results will be announced. After that some Tasmac shops are going to implement it on trial basis. Every bottle of liquor bears labels with excise duty. It will be scanned by the Tasmac store clerk with a special tool. Instantly the bill will be prepared by another tool.
Full details in Excise Bill
After that customers can get the bill along with the bottle of alcohol. Apart from that, if you scan the excise label on the bottle, you can know various details like where the bottle was bought, on what date it was bought, which batch it belongs to, and when it was brought out of the brewery.
Problem for Tasmac management
Perhaps if the vendor sells the liquor without scanning it, the liquor bottles will get caught while auditing the inventory. Then there will be a problem in the account case. In an environment where there is currently no bill practice, the new scheme will help in proper maintenance of income and expenditure accounts. Tasmac management has some complaints about this. Most of the time the shops are crowded to buy liquor.
RailTel won the tender
Then it is very difficult to scan every bottle. But government officials say that as all administrations are going digital, they have adopted the Tasmac bill system as part of it. RailTel has taken over the tender for implementation of this digital project. Now all the software and application work is complete. All that remains is to gradually implement and correct the deficiencies.
Test run after the election
A new digital billing system will be implemented in certain districts and cities after the Lok Sabha elections. Is there any technical problem? will be investigated. These are planned to be adjusted gradually and implemented flawlessly. In any case, they say that the digital billing system will be implemented across the state before October
