Liquor sale In Tamil Nadu, Indian made foreign liquors are sold all over Tamil Nadu with 4829 liquor retail outlets. While 2919 bars are functioning in Tamil Nadu, there are currently 23,986 people working in liquor shops.

Prohibition and Prohibition Department Policy Explanatory Note tabled in Assembly. They have said that the Tamil Nadu government has earned 3,639 crores 93 lakhs revenue since 2003 through the sale of liquor and sales tax.
Alcohol sales revenue
But in the last financial year i.e. 2023-24 financial year 45 thousand 855 crore 67 lakhs has been received. 44 lakh 121 crore 13 lakh revenue in the last financial year, the last year’s revenue was Rs 1734 crore 54 lakh.
