Bajaj has launched a new low-cost Chetak electric scooter variant. Named Chetak 2901, the variant has been launched under Rs 1 lakh below the Chetak Urban variant. Companies like TVS, Ola and Ether selling electric scooters in India are selling electric scooter models under Rs.1 lakh. Bajaj has launched this new Chater 2901 variant to compete with them.
What are the changes:
Being a cheaper variant of the existing model, it doesn’t come with any new features. Instead Chetak 2901 has been released without some of the features already provided.
The battery and LCD display of the Cettak Urban variant, which is currently an intermediate variant, are also given in the Cettak 2901 variant. No change in design. Chetak 2901 is available in 5 colors Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue to attract young customers.
What facilities are missing:
While other Chetak variants have three riding modes, this Chetak 2901 comes with only one riding mode. Also, steel wheels are given in this model.
An off-board charger is provided like the Chetak Urban. While the top speed of the other two variants is 73 kmph, it has been reduced to 63 kmph in the Chetak 2901. With a claimed range of 123 km without any change in range, the charging time has increased to six hours.
For additional facilities:
Those who want additional facilities can buy Techpack by paying an additional Rs.3,000. By purchasing this techpack, you can get two additional riding modes, a reverse mode, hill hold assist and alloy wheels on the Chetak 2901 model itself.
Price:
The new Chetak 2901 variant with these features has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 95,998. It is noteworthy that the mid-range variant of the Chetak model, the Urban, is priced at Rs 1.13 lakh ex-showroom and the top-end premium variant is priced at Rs 1.37 lakh ex-showroom.
