Tamil Nadu Congress President Selvaperunthagai has said that the absence of a single Muslim in Modi’s cabinet shows his bigotry.
In his statement in this regard, during the last Lok Sabha election campaign, Narendra Modi launched a severe attack against the minority people by fabricating everything that was not mentioned in the Congress manifesto. Similarly, in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP It is shocking news that among the 283 winners in 2014, 303 winners in 2019 and 240 winners in 2024, not a single person belongs to the minority community.
The last 10 years of BJP Violent attacks against minorities, hate speech and murderous attacks took place across the country due to the lack of representation of the minorities in the government.
Narendra Modi ruled for 10 years without representing 20 percent of India’s population, i.e. about 25 crore minorities, and the anti-minority trend continues in the NDA government headed by him. This is not in any way a credit to the Constitution which was created as per the dream of Gandhi, Nehru and Ambedkar.
The Constitution clearly states that no citizen should be discriminated against on the basis of religion, caste, race or language. On the contrary, the fact that there is not a single person from the Muslim community in the cabinet headed by Narendra Modi reveals his sectarian politics.
In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the representation of the Muslim community has fallen sharply to the lowest level in 60 years. In the 18th Lok Sabha, the Muslim community, which constitutes 15 per cent of the population, has 24 members – or 4.4 per cent representation. This trend started after 1990 when BJP’s number of Lok Sabha members started increasing.
Muslim representation was more than 8 percent from 1980 to 1990 when the Congress was in power. At present, out of total 24 members in the 18th Lok Sabha, 7 members are represented by the Congress party and 4 members are represented by secular parties including the Samajwadi Party.
However, the absence of any representation of the Muslim community in Narendra Modi’s BJP or in the parties that are part of the National Democratic Alliance is the biggest threat to the secular policy. It is the responsibility of India’s allies including the Congress to protect the minority people from such anti-democratic activities. People have learned a lesson in the last Lok Sabha elections for trying to divide the people religiously and widen the vote bank.
Modi’s dream of winning more than 400 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by building a Ram temple in Ayodhya has been dashed. To top it all off, Samajwadi Party candidate Avdesh Prasad’s victory in the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency under Ayodhya, where the Ram temple built by Narendra Modi is, is a death blow to the sectarian forces. Above all Faizabad constituency is not a separate constituency. But Avadesh Prasad, who contested there, belonged to the Dalit community. The dream of Gandhi, Nehru and Ambedkar has been saved by winning the general election.
It is a Himalayan victory for Indian democracy that the Dalit candidate who won the Faizabad constituency with 5.5 lakh votes based on the belief that India’s diversity finds unity in its diversity and India’s alliance will forever stand for the Scheduled Tribes. On the basis of this victory, we should consider this as the biggest victory for the efforts of President Rahul Gandhi who campaigned to protect the Constitution with great confidence. Out of 99 constituencies won by the Congress, 31 were won by the marginal castes (SC/ST people). Now the number of Congress Lok Sabha members has increased to 102.
Therefore, even though India did not form a coalition government after winning the last Lok Sabha elections, dictatorship and sectarian politics have been defeated. Similarly, DMK in Tamil Nadu. It is the greatest pride for the Tamil people that the India alliance led by the Congress has won a landslide victory and has emerged as a pioneer state in India. He mentioned that we will plan our future politics in this background.
