Nellie East District Congress President Jayakumar was found dead yesterday in his garden in a burnt state.
KP Jayakumar, who was the Tirunelveli East District Congress president, was reported missing by his family at the Uvari police station on the second day. In this situation, on the fourth day, a half-burnt corpse was recovered from his garden near his house in Karai Sattu Budur. The body was brought to the Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination and was cremated in his native village Karai Suttuputhur yesterday.
Intensive investigation:
Eight separate teams have been set up to investigate the incident. Special teams are not only going to Tirunelveli district but also to other districts including Chennai. In this situation, all the persons mentioned in the letter said to have been written by Jayakumar are being investigated.
The police interrogated Jai Khar, the principal of the school, as the letter stated that he was to be paid 30 lakh rupees for the construction work of the private school. They have confirmed that they have been investigated.
