96An Italian court has fined a female journalist €5,000 for mocking Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s height.
Giulia Cortez, who is working as an independent journalist in Italy, posted a photo on her X page in 2021 with the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini in the background of the current Prime Minister Meloni, mocking Meloni’s height.
Georgia Meloni…don’t you scare me. You are only 1.2 meters (4 feet) tall. I couldn’t even look at you,” Cortez had said on the X page.
He expressed this opinion not only on X site but also on various social media and local media. Melonie filed a defamation case against Cortez in court after an argument broke out between the two on social media regarding this comment.
In this case, the Milan court, which was investigating this case, has now fined Cortes 5,000 euros.
