The Supreme Court has given a very important judgment yesterday that the state governments have the power to grant internal quota in the Scheduled reservation and the 3 percent internal quota given to the Arundhatia community in Tamil Nadu will go. Various leaders including Chief Minister M.K.Stalin have welcomed this. In this context, in a statement issued by the President of the Visika Thirumavalavan, he said that the Visika participated in the all-party meeting convened by the artist regarding the provision of internal quota to Arundhathiyar and expressed his support.
He said that today’s Supreme Court judgment has shown that the law enacted by the Tamil Nadu government and the stand taken by the Liberation Tigers of India are very correct, and while giving this judgment, the Supreme Court judges have said that they should provide appropriate evidence to grant internal quota, which is also welcome.
Thirumavalavan mentioned that some of these judges of seven judges have mentioned that a system of income limit should be introduced for the SC category as a criterion, and that they should not give reservation privilege again if they have got reservation in the first generation.
Thirumavalavan described that the reservation given to the SC category has not been fully implemented by the state governments and the union government in any department and accused the state governments and the union government of keeping thousands of posts vacant and filling them with others for a long time.
He further said, “It is not fair to try to eliminate those who are eligible for reservation by introducing the cream layer system when the reservation is not completed. Therefore, they should be taken only as the opinions of the judges. should not be taken as part of the judgment. He urged the central government to ignore it.
Moreover, Thirumavalavan has requested that some state governments may use this ruling that the state governments have the power to grant internal quota against the unity of the Scheduled Tribes for their political gain, and they should approach this problem with awareness.
