Japanese automaker Toyota has launched a new mid-range variant of the Innova Crysta MPV in India. While the Innova Crysta is already sold in two variants namely GX and VX, the new intermediate variant named GX+ has been introduced.
Toyota has provided various unique features in this new GX+ variant which is not present in the base GX variant. The GX+ variant has been introduced at a slightly higher price than the GX variant, with two seating options – 7-seater and 8-seater.
The Innova Crysta GX+ variant gets 14 unique new features like rear camera, auto fold mirrors, dashboard camera, diamond cut alloy wheels, wooden panels and premium fabric seats.
Apart from some additional features, there is no change in the engine and gearbox. Toyota is selling the Innova Crysta with only one 2.4-litre diesel engine option. This engine is capable of producing 150hp of power and 343Nm of torque. Also, this engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Innova Crysta model in India is priced between Rs 19.99 lakh and Rs 26.30 lakh ex-showroom. The 7-seater version of the new model has been launched at a price of Rs 21.39 lakh ex-showroom and the 8-seater version has been launched at a price of Rs 21.44 lakh ex-showroom.
It is Rs 1.40 to Rs 1.45 lakh more than the base GX variant. There are no direct competitors for this Innova Crysta model in India. However, some models including the Kia Garance and Mahindra Marazzo can be said to be relatively competitive.
