Chennai: The Meteorological Department has warned that due to the depression in the Bay of Bengal, there will be heavy rains in many places in Tamil Nadu and severe cyclones. It is also reported that if it turns into a storm, it will rain very heavily.
Summer rains are pouring in Tamil Nadu. Heavy rain is lashing many districts from Chennai to Kanyakumari. In particular, heavy rains are falling in the districts of Trichy, Salem, Madurai, Karur, Hosur, Nilgiris and Tenkasi. Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Chengalpattu and other districts are receiving moderate rain.
This rainfall is caused by atmospheric upper circulation and influence of southwest monsoon. Atmospheric circulation in the northern districts and rains are settling in the southern districts due to the impact of southwest monsoon which has started in Kerala.
Apart from this, a depression has formed over the Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department has announced that it will develop into a depression and become a storm in the next few days. Meanwhile, due to this depression, the coastal districts are receiving rain.
In this case, Meteorological Center Director Pa. Senthamaraik Kannan said, “The depression over the Bay of Bengal will strengthen into a low pressure zone on the 24th. Due to this, the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Gulf of Mannar, Kumarik Sea, Kerala coastal areas and southwest Bay of Bengal will experience cyclonic winds.
Due to this, in the next 4 “None of the fishermen should go into the sea for days. Moreover, it is safe for fishermen who have gone to the deep sea to return to the shore immediately,” he said.
