Manipur : 2 CRPF soldiers were killed in an attack by terrorists in Bishnupur district of Manipur state.

Elections were held in 2 phases for the 2 constituencies in the state of Manipur, which has been facing various attacks since last May. In the first phase of elections (April 19) elections were held in specific areas in both constituencies namely Manipur Inner and Manipur Outer. The second phase of elections was held yesterday (April 26) in the remaining constituencies.
Incidents of ballot box burning and firing took place during the first phase of the election. Only one person was injured and receiving treatment. A similar incident took place during the second phase of polling yesterday.
Last night, local militants fired on the army camps from the hills in Naransena area of Bishnupur district. So far 2 CRPF soldiers have tragically lost their lives in this attack. There are reports that 2 more people are receiving treatment for serious injuries. The attack continued till 2.15 am today.
It is said that the 2 CRPF soldiers who died belonged to 128 Battalion and were engaged in security work in Naransena area. ANI reported that the attackers were Kuki terrorists.
