Chennai : While the Bengaluru team was engaged in training for today’s IPL eliminator match, they have now canceled the training due to the threat to Virat Kohli’s life.
The eliminator match of the IPL play-off round will be played today between Rajasthan and Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While both the teams were engaged in training for this match, at this stage the Bangalore team has canceled their net training due to security reasons.
Also, the RCB team has also canceled their net practice following reports that Virat Kohli’s safety was at risk. The RCB team had planned to conduct their practice today at the Gujarat College ground. However, the Bengaluru team did not go there for training.
Also, the Bengaluru team did not hold a press conference considering these security reasons. Following this, the RCB team has canceled their training based on the suspicion of terrorist activities. Due to this, 4 people were arrested on suspicion from Ahmedabad airport on Monday.
Also, Gujarat Police Officer Vijaysingh Juwala said, “Virat Kohli may have heard about this arrest while coming to Ahmedabad. He is the asset of this country. His safety is very important to us. At the same time RCB team is not ready to take any risk. Also, they have canceled the webinar.
The Rajasthan Royals team has also been properly informed about this,” the police officer said. Also, security has been beefed up outside the hotel where RCB is staying as a precautionary measure. Similarly, the hotel where the Rajasthan team players are staying has been heavily policed.
