Premalatha Vijayakanth | Late actor and founder of DMD political movement actor Vijayakanth was awarded Padma Bhushan on 9th May.
President Draupadi Murmu presented the award and an emotional Premalatha broke down in tears.
Then for a minute he raised the award towards the sky and presented it to Captain Vijayakanth. Later, speaking to the media, Premalatha said, “I present this award to Vijayakanth and DMDK volunteers.”
Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah hosted a party at his residence for Premalatha and her son, Thambi.
Premalatha, who was previously interviewed in Chennai on the morning of May 9, said, “I am happy that Vijayakanth has received the Padma Bhushan award. We and the DMD volunteers are sad that he is not.
In Virudhunagar Lok Sabha Constituency, Vijaya Prabhakaran started the election work a month earlier. He has more chances to win there.”
