Jay Shah About women's t20

Mumbai : BCCI Secretary Jaisha has categorically stated that the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will not be held in India.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jaisha has opened up about India’s hosting of the T20 Women’s World Cup in an interview to a private media outlet in Mumbai on August 14. Due to the ongoing riots in Bangladesh, there were initial reports that talks were underway to host the T20 Women’s World Cup in India.

So, because of this today during a conversation with the journalists of a private press company, Jaisha was questioned in this regard. Answering this question, he said, “We have the ICC, are you hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup in India? They asked, I categorically said no to that,” said Jaisha.

Jaisha also continued to say that the Women’s World Cup could not be held due to rain. Monsoon has started in India. Therefore, now the competition cannot be held here,” he said frankly.

Jaysha continued, “We are definitely planning to host the next T20 Women’s World Cup. Negotiations are ongoing. Otherwise, we have never said that we will host T20 Women’s World Cup consecutively in any way,” he said.

India will play a series of 2 Tests and 3 T20Is against Bangladesh in September. So, taking that into consideration, Jaisha said, “The upcoming series against Bangladesh is an important series for us and we are looking forward to that series”.
