The 17th Paralympic Games for the disabled are being held in Paris, the capital of France. 4,400 players from all over the world have participated in this series which started on 28th. 84 male and female players have participated on behalf of India.
In this case, the men’s discus throw F-56 final at the Paris Paralympics was held on Monday. Yogesh Kathunia participated on behalf of India. Yogesh Kathuniya, who performed tremendously in this event which was staged very excitingly, won the silver medal by throwing a distance of 42.22 m.
Claudini Bautista dos Santos of Brazil won the gold medal with a throw of 46.86m and Konstantinos Sounis of Greece won the bronze medal with a throw of 41.32m.
With this medal won by Yogesh Kathunia, India’s medal tally has increased to 8. India has won 1 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze so far.
