In the state of Andhra Pradesh today (May 13) elections to the Lok Sabha and the state legislative assembly will be held simultaneously. Meanwhile, a video of YSR Congress MLA Shivakumar assaulting a voter has gone viral on social media.
The incident reportedly took place at a polling booth in Denali block of Guntur district. In Denali Constituency MLA Sivakumar went to vote today. Then he went straight to vote without queuing. When a voter who was waiting in the queue objected to this, an enraged Sivakumar slapped the voter on the cheek. Seconds later, the voter also attacked the MLA.
Immediately the supporters of MLA Sivakumar there attacked the voter. The video of this incident has been released and has caused a great shock.
Andhra Pradesh BJP has condemned the incident. “Vaikaba candidate attacked voter in Guntur district Denali? Do you have respect for democracy?” posted that.
Polling for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh will be held in a single phase on Monday. 25 constituencies will hold public elections, while 175 constituencies will hold state assembly elections.
