This new model is characterized by a sportier design and advanced technology.
Design
The significantly increased dimensions, a defined coupé silhouette and more dynamic lines reflect the generational leap that the new BMW X2 has made.
Its sporty aesthetic is accentuated by an aggressive front end that includes a kidney-shaped grille and angular LED headlights. Flared fenders, 21-inch alloy wheels and a sloping roof complete the vehicle’s athletic image.
Technology
The technological advancement of the X2 is evident in the range of systems that enable automated driving and parking, as well as in new digital systems such as BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and BMW Operating System 9.
Modern interior
The X2’s interior combines modernity and luxury, with a redesign of the driver-focused cockpit. The BMW Curved Display, with its frameless glass surface, integrates the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system with touch, voice and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant control.
Aluminium details, leather-trimmed sports seats and an M Sport steering wheel create an elegant and sporty ambience. A distinctive element is the “floating” armrest with integral control panel between the front seats.
Performance and handling
We had the opportunity to drive the BMW X2 M35i, equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 312 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
The engine is mated to a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. The X2 M35i accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 155 mph.
When driving, this SUV shows its sporty character. The engine is powerful and the automatic transmission is smooth and fast. The handling is precise and the suspension is firm but comfortable.
The X2 M35i feels like it’s glued to the road, inspiring confidence at every turn.
BMW iDrive with QuickSelect: An intuitive digital experience
The BMW iDrive with QuickSelect, integrated in the new BMW X2, is a state-of-the-art control and display system. Based on BMW Operating System 9, this intuitive system enables easy access to a variety of digital services.
Some of its key features are:
- BMW Curved Screen: A curved display that offers an immersive, easy-to-read viewing experience.
- BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant: An intelligent assistant that responds to natural voice commands and helps you control various vehicle functions.
- QuickSelect: It enables quick switching between entertainment programmes, contact lists, vehicle settings and interaction with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant by tapping on the screen.
