Polling for the Lok Sabha elections is in full swing and now the day has come for the declaration of the election results. All the voters are eagerly waiting to know who will form the government next. Expectations are high as to who will reap the fruits of victory from their constituencies. The result will be known shortly. Counting of votes is about to begin.
Karur Lok Sabha constituency is the 23rd out of 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu. Karur Lok Sabha Constituency has 6 assembly constituencies namely Vedasandur, Aravakurichi, Karur, Krishnarayapuram (Separate), Manaparai and Viralimalai. In the last 17th Lok Sabha election held in 2019, Jyothimani from the Congress party won with a total of 6,95,697 votes with 63.06 percent. At that time, AIADMK’s Thambidurai, which came second, got only 2,75,151 votes. Naam Tamilar Party’s Karupiya got 38,543 votes.
In this year’s election, the main candidates in the Karur constituency are Jyothimani (Congress) of the DMK alliance, KRL Thangavel of the AIADMK, Senthil Nathan of the BJP and R. Karupaiah of the Naam Tamilar Party. A total of 54 people have competed with them. They say that the Congress party, which has formed an alliance with the DMK in this year’s election too, will be victorious. A poll conducted on behalf of Thandi TV predicted that the Congress would get 36 percent of the votes, the AIADMK 32 percent and the BJP 23 percent.
As the counting of votes is going on, as of 10 am, Jyothimani of Congress is leading by securing 8,100 votes. He is followed by Thangavel of AIADMK with 7,900 votes.
As of 11 am, DMK’s Congress party Jyotimani is leading with 51,000 votes. AIADMK’s Thangavel is second with 39,000 votes.
As of 1 pm, DMK’s Congress party Jyotimani is leading by securing 1.85 lakh votes. AIADMK’s Thangavel is second with 1.39 lakh votes.
As of 3:00 pm, Jyothimani of the Congress party in the DMK alliance is leading by securing 2.87 lakh votes. AIADMK’s Thangavel is second with 2 lakh votes. BJP’s Senthil Nathan got only 55,000 votes.
As of 4.30 pm, Jyotimani of the Congress party in the DMK alliance is leading by securing 3.95 lakh votes. AIADMK’s Thangavel is second with 2.75 lakh votes. BJP’s Senthil Nathan got only 76,000 votes.
