Detention for the person who drove the bus on the railway track

– Case on various charges including attempted murder

Yesterday morning (02) the driver of a private passenger bus dangerously and unsafely drove a private passenger bus on the railway track during the traffic jam in Tummodara area of ​​Colombo – Ratnapura road, was arrested by Mpilipitiya police and produced at Avisawala police station.

It is to be noted that while the related video has spread on social media, the said driver has been arrested.

The suspect driver was produced by the Avisawala Magistrate’s Court on charges of attempted murder, driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving under the influence of intoxicating drugs, and damaging government property, and has been remanded until June 6.

The driver of a private bus traveling from Colombo to Suryawewa was traveling in an unsafe manner.

The suspect is a 45-year-old resident of Moraketia, Mpilipitiya.

Investigation has revealed that the suspect driver drove the bus on the railway tracks while his driver’s license was suspended for 4 months by the court for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Embilipitiya police are conducting further investigations in this regard.
