The childhood sweethearts have been arrested by the police after they left their home and stayed elsewhere even after being punished by the court.
An 18-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl from Mullaitivu area were in love and were arrested by the police when they left their home and stayed at another place for the past 6 months and were brought before the court.
After court hearings, the court sentenced the youth to 3 months imprisonment and ordered the girl to be admitted to a reform school.
In that situation, both of them returned to their homes after completing their sentences, and again both left their homes and stayed in Koppai area of Jaffna.
After getting information about this, the police arrested both of them and kept them at the police station for further investigation.
