Diamonds dumped on Mercury – can they be brought to Earth?

Diamond - Mercury - Earth

Diamond: A study conducted by Chinese and Belgian scientists has revealed that there is a possibility of more diamonds in the planet Mercury near the Earth.

How would you feel if you saw a diamond? Imagine what would happen if only diamonds were scattered over a distance of about 15 kilometers? Scientists have discovered a large number of diamonds on the surface of Mercury.

This was revealed in a report recently published in the journal Nature Communications. Wow…Mercury’s surface is composed of carbon, silica, and iron, and beneath these layers of diamond may be 9 miles (14 km) thick.

However, information has been published in the science journal ‘Nature Communications’ that it is not possible to mine diamonds easily. Those diamonds cannot be brought to earth. But studying them can provide information about the formation of Mercury and its magnetic field.

So much so that the planet Mercury has hidden many secrets within itself. Of which, the biggest mystery is its magnetic field. The planet’s magnetic field is very weak compared to Earth’s. Because this planet is very small. Its surface is dark in many places. NASA’s MESSENGER mission identified the dark colors on the surface as graphite.
