Lok Sabha Elections: Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, who contested the Thoothukudi Lok Sabha seat on behalf of the DMK, has secured a lead of 17,787 votes. Sivasamy Velumani, the AIADMK candidate who contested against him, got 5351 votes.
With this, star candidate Kanimozhi is leading by a huge margin of 12,436 votes over Sivasamy Velumani.
