Ex-servicemen collecting parking fees in Chennai! Corporation Mass Project!-oneindia news

Chennai Smart Parkings:

In order to increase revenue in Chennai Corporation, which is the largest corporation in Tamil Nadu, the corporation administration has set up smart parking lots at more than 120 places including Chennai Marina Beach, Besant Nagar Beach, Thiagaraya Nagar under the Smart City Project.

The Corporation has given permission to Tour Media Services Pvt Ltd and SS Tech on contractual basis to collect tolls from motorists for vehicles parked here.

Parking Fee:

In this situation, it has been ordered to charge Rs.5 per hour for two-wheelers and Rs.20 per hour for four-wheelers at these parking spots.

To prevent charging more than this fee, a notice board should be placed at a distance of 25 meters in the areas where smart parking is operational so that the public is aware of the parking operations. In it, it was ordered that the contact numbers of the toll collection superintendent and the license inspector of the corporation should be mentioned for the parking fee details and to complain about the high toll collection.

Overcharge:

Recently, a car driver from Andhra Pradesh was attacked by collectors who demanded 300 rupees from a car driver from Andhra Pradesh. Not only this, the public and motorists accused the public and motorists of violating the rules recently at the Marina beach by charging up to Rs 400 for bus men, up to Rs 300 for cars and up to Rs 30 for two-wheelers and not giving receipts.

Apart from this, the information that the contract company was charging me for the period of its approval expired in March was shocking. Following this, the Corporation announced that the public will not be required to pay the fee until a new contractor is appointed, while ordering that no fee be collected from the contractors.

Ex-servicemen to take the field:

Corporation officials have said that Marina Beach, Besant Nagar Beach, The. No one has been ordered to collect tolls for vehicles in urban areas and it has been announced that the public is not required to pay tolls at present. Soon we are planning to carry out fee collection work through Tamil Nadu Ex-Servicemen’s Association, a pro-government organization. Already 55% of the total revenue is contracted to the corporation and 45% to the contracting company. In this regard, a decision will be taken after discussion with the Ex-Servicemen Association.
