Indian citizenship for the first 14 people under the CAA.

Chennai : For the first time, 14 people have been granted Indian citizenship under the CAA. – Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Indian Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was earlier passed by Parliament, was implemented on March 11 last year. Under the Act, it was announced that non-Muslims such as Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, who had settled in India before December 31, 2014 from neighboring countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, would be granted citizenship.

Accordingly, it was announced that from March 11, you can apply for citizenship under the CAA Act. It has been reported that Union Home Ministry Secretary Ajay has granted Indian citizenship to 14 people for the first time under the CAA Act.

It has been mentioned that the CAA will not apply to the tribals of the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura and it will not apply to the refugees who came to Tamil Nadu from Sri Lanka.
